The Hollywood Allstars vs. New York All-Stars Celebrity Sports Weekend

On Saturday, August 27th, the world famous Hollywood Allstars Celebrity Softball Team will travel to Long Island and challenge a team of well known New York Celebrity All-Stars in an exciting nine inning Celebrity Game at beautiful 6,000 seat CITIBANK PARK, home of the Long Island Ducks in Central Islip on Long Island. At least 22-24 well known entertainment personalities will donate their time to attend and or participate in various Celebrity Game activities which have been scheduled in support of hundreds of Long Island Fire Fighters. Several Long Island Fire Fighters will volunteer in a variety of ways and help us raise several thousand dollars for the Burn Center at Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island.This unique team of Hollywood Allstars will feature a combination of Television, Film or Music stars who are better than average athletes and will donate their time a few weekends each year to play fun, but competitive Celebrity Games in Major and Minor League Stadiums throughout North America for many worthwhile charities. In July of 1984, the Hollywood Allstars flew to Edmonton, Alberta and challenged Wayne Gretzky and his team of Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oilers. The Hollywood Allstars have played at least 7-8 games against the NFL Super Bowl Champions in their home city. In May of 1994 the Hollywood Allstars challenged a team of INDY 500 drivers as part of the INDY 500 race weekend festivities and the Hollywood Allstars have been the invited guests of two sitting Presidents at the White House in Washington, D.C.
A few of those celebrities who have confirmed their participation in our Celebrity Game are actors John Callahan who for over 16 years has been seen as Edmund Grey on the hit ABC Soap “All My Children”, William Baldwin who has starred in several feature films and grew up on Long Island just a few miles from Central Islip, Tom Cavanagh who entertained us as ED on the popular NBC primetime series “ED”, Chris Noth who is known as Mr. Big to millions of “Sex in the City” viewers and will be seen this fall on the NBC hit “Law & Order”, Paul Rudd who starred as Phoebe’s boyfriend Michael on the NBC primetime hit “Friends”, and Jonathan Silverman who has starred in many feature films such as “Weekend at Bernies” on Broadway in “Brighton Beach Memoirs” and in his own NBC hit television series “The Single Guy”.
These are just a few of over 20 well known entertainment personalities who will attend or participate in our nine inning Hollywood Allstars vs New York Celebrity All-Stars Softball Game at CITIBANK PARK on Saturday, August 27th. All Long Island Ducks Season Ticket holders have until the end of business on Thursday, July 14th to purchase their personal Reserved Box Seat Season Tickets for only $10.00 each. All remaining $10.00 Reserved Box Seats will go on sale to the General Public at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 18th. Fans are encouraged to purchase their $10.00 Reserved Box Seat tickets in advance as soon as possible at the Long Island Ducks Advance Ticket Window at CITIBANK PARK, or fans can purchase their Reserved Box Seat tickets on-line with a Credit Card at liducks.com.
Fans are encouraged to listen to either WBLI FM or WBAB FM daily for on-air interviews with confirmed celebrity game participants, the release of additional celebrity game participants and miscellaneous other celebrity game sweepstakes information. On-air radio personalities from both WBLI 106.1 and WBAB 102.3 will continuously advise their listeners how to register and possibly win one of our attractive multi-color Hollywood Allstars T-Shirts, a special VIP Invitation for two to attend our pre-game VIP Party where fans can meet and mingle with our celebrity game participants and fans will also have an opportunity to serve as one of our Honorary Base Coaches and Coach First Base for three outs during one inning of our Celebrity Softball Game.
