Former PBM Exec Launches New Company

Latham, NY – December 24, 2007 - Patrick McLaughlin announced today the creation of Matrix PBM. McLaughlin previously served as President of Centrus Pharmacy Solutions and the PBM division of National Medical Health Card.

McLaughlin is launching the company with John Navarra, owner of Town Total Health a specialty pharmacy provider.

“Market forces have caused PBMs to change direction over the past several years. Diminishing margins have forced PBMs to chase other revenue streams. Increasing mail order penetration, driving rebates, and directing specialty pharmacy prescriptions to preferred providers are a few examples of how PBMs are supporting their profitability. In many cases the changes have not been in the clients’ best interest and they have caused the PBM to lose focus on what the client thinks is important.” said McLaughlin, president.
