Stratton Leopold Featured in Book "Adventurous Dreams, Adventurous Lives" with Members of the Exclusive Explorers Club

SAVANNAH, GA – Stratton Leopold, a motion picture producer and co-owner of Leopold’s Ice Cream in Savannah, GA, is featured in the book "Adventurous Dreams, Adventurous Lives," with 120 other outstanding individuals, representing a Who's Who of international exploration, relating those indelible moments in their youth when the dreams that launched their remarkable lives were born. As they recount the turning points on the way to fulfilling those dreams, which often meant confronting enormous physical, emotional or other obstacles, we learn how incredibly inspirational their lives are. The stories in Adventurous Dreams, Adventurous Lives were collected and edited by Jason Schoonover.

Other famous explorers included in the project are Meave and Louise Leakey, Buzz Aldrin, Robert Ballard, balloonists Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, “Lucy” discoverer Don Johanson, Jack Horner, Sue Hendrickson, Jean-Michel Cousteau, the Ra's Capt. Norman Baker, George Bass, Eugenie Clark, Richard Fisher, Trieste's Don Walsh, and Nobel Laureate Charles H. Townes.

A member of The Explorers Club since 1988, Leopold has always had been inquisitive about science and exploration. He believed his career path would be in the sciences – rocketry and space travel specifically. When his career path turned to producing movies and making ice cream, he said “the lessons I learned in science: deductive reasoning, perseverance, observation all benefited me in every aspect of my career.” Leopold explores every opportunity he has especially when he is on location for movies.
