Who says you can’t have security without ease of use?

New York: As part of their ongoing mission to promote security through ease of use to the average PC user, Comodo today released i-Vault password management and automation software.i-Vault saves time by providing instant login to password secured webpages such as online banking and email account sites. It also doubles up as 256 bit secure storage for private and confidential information such as credit card details and social security numbers.
When a user types his password and username details into a website or application, i-Vault automatically records the information and generates an encrypted ‘Login Card’. Subsequently, one click on the card will open the desired webpage in Internet Explorer, fill out the password fields and automatically log the user into the site.
The application also includes a password generator that automatically creates and stores complex passwords – an Achilles heel of many home users who tend to use simple, easily remembered passwords that are easily cracked using brute force attacks. Furthermore, secure clipboard transferal between the application and the target site eliminates the threat posed by keylogging Trojan horse programs.
Melih Abdulhayoglu, President and CEO Comodo Inc, feels that products such as i-Vault encourage the adoption of secure practices by simplifying the lives of computer users,
“Internet and PC users already understand the importance of keeping track of multiple passwords and that they ought to be stored securely. They also understand that passwords ought to be something more than their pet’s name and should be a lengthy mix of alpha and numeric characters.”
” i-Vault translates these good intentions into good practices by providing a secure, centralized location for the generation, storage and one click implementation of highly confidential password information.”
i-Vault is free to download and use, joining Comodo’s growing range of consumer protection technologies which are provided to end users at no cost including Comodo Antispam, Verification Engine, TrustToolBar and free email certificates.
“By providing genuinely valuable additions to a PC user’s experience Comodo hope that secure behavior can be established as second nature”, Abdulhayoglu concluded.
