Clinical Indications for Acupuncture

December 13, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
New York/Stuttgart -Thieme announced today the release of the “Teaching Atlas of Acupuncture Volume 2: Clinical Indications,” by Piero Ettore Quirico, M.D. With the new atlas, now readers can easily compare and contrast traditional Chinese medicine indications with their western counterparts for all major acupuncture points. Both volumes are direct outgrowths of Dr. Quirico's teaching experiences, his 20 years of work as a clinician as well as his numerous visits to China.

In the foreword of the new atlas, Shi Yanhua, associate professor of International Education College of the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and director of the teaching section of the Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Center, writes, "This text is highly recommended as a valid instrument in learning and practicing clinical acupuncture.”

The 268 page book includes over 800 tables and offers a vast array of intricately detailed clinical information on over 400 acupuncture points —their names, meanings, locations, TCM functions, and indications.

The “Teaching Atlas of Acupuncture Volume 2” is the perfect supplement to “Channels and Points,” the first volume in the set. Both books are essential companions for people learning or currently practicing clinical acupuncture.
