USA Save Christmas Launches Decorative 3 inch Christmas Buttons that boldly state “No Happy Holidays for me Wish me a Merry Christmas” Once upon a time the Grinch stole Christmas. Whose stealing it now? Dream Trees, Friendship Trees, Nativity Scenes defaced and banished from Public places, Winter break instead of “Christmas” Break on school and University calendars, little by little the word “Christmas” is disappearing from the season. Moreover, the recent uproar over Santa’s Ho! Ho! Ho! may signal his disappearance from the season as well.
“These Christmas buttons are designed to stem the tide of anti-Christmas and anti-Christian sentiment that has come to define this joyous season in recent years,” said Art Dealer Jacqueline Cable. Surprised when a Stop & Shop employee commented “it is against company policy to wish customers ‘Merry Christmas,’” Cable thought a decorative button might answer the problem of political correctness. The buttons allow wearers to make clear their desire for others to wish them “Merry Christmas” so fear and apprehension of offending someone who is not Christian is easily avoided.
Cable commissioned Joseph Knight of Knight & Hammer private jewelers to create button designs in the spirit of the season. The “Christ Child in a Manger Button” displays the words ‘I’m Christian, Please wish me a Merry Christmas;’ while the “Christmas Stars Button” set against a background of colors of the season, green, red and white states ‘No Happy Holidays for me Wish me a Merry Christmas.’ With the addition of colorful ribbon, these handsome 3-inch buttons become terrific Christmas Tree ornaments after Christmas Day.
Ms. Cable went on to say “Net proceeds from the sale of the Christmas Buttons will be denoted to The Marine Corp Law Enforcement Foundation earmarked for scholarships for the children of soldiers who lost their lives in defense of our liberties."
