Crowds gathered and enjoyed the holiday festivities surrounding the Mayor’s Downtown Holiday Lighting Celebration on Friday November 16. The annual ceremony featured free family activities, Santa Claus, a children’s play area and live entertainment from 4pm until 8pm.
The Wyandotte Nation, owner of the 7th Street Casino, was a main sponsor of the tree lighting. “We are strong supporters of the KCK Downtown,” said Dennis Pontiere. Along with the lighting, was the festival of trees hosted at the City Hall. The event was designed to sell pre-decorated, sponsored trees with all proceeds going towards charity.

7th Street Casino is located at 803 North 7th Street, at the intersection of 7th Street (State Hwy 69) and Ann Avenue in downtown Kansas City, KS. The 24 hour casino will house over 400 state-of-the-art gaming machines in over 20,000 square feet of gaming space. The facility also features Lucky's Steak & Chop House, a restaurant designed in the reflection of 1920's Kansas City history. This nostalgic theme is carried throughout the interior and exterior design. 7th Street Casino mixes historical charm with all of the latest amenities and technologies to create a truly unique gaming experience.
