Each year, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) starts the holiday season in style by hosting a tree lighting and decorating ceremony. Special guest Mayor Tom Leppert joined the celebration this year by lighting the atrium tree with a TSRHC patient.

To kick off the holiday season, 45 volunteer groups representing many Dallas-area organizations gathered at TSRHC to decorate trees throughout the hospital. Dallas mayor Tom Leppert and TSRHC patient Brandalyn West, age 4 of Crowley, officially lit the giant Christmas tree in the hospital atrium. Santa was present to spread holiday cheer, and a group of hospital friends decorated trees placed around the hospital. Following the tree decorating, TSRHC provided dinner for all participants.
