Opportunity Knocks Meeting Facilitator

Community Futures brought Opportunity Knocks to our community last April. Since then 12 progressive businesses have been meeting monthly to discuss the unique challenges that face their businesses in the Okanagan.
 
Sharon Romank is one of the owners of Affordable Storage Centre in Penticton (www.affordable.ca). Sharon is pleased to give back to the community as a co chair for a new business networking group in Penticton BC called “Opportunity Knocks”.

To qualify for membership you must be a business owner or manager and in business for at least a year. You must also be the type of business person who listens, accepts constructive criticism, is willing to share, believes all problems are solvable and has an appetite to learn. “We have learned so much from our round table discussions which usually centre around issues of staffing, time management, organizing structure, being too busy and target marketing”, says Patty Lou, a small business owner in Penticton. “I’d probably still be in business if it weren’t for opportunity knocks, but I wouldn’t be thriving, I’d be fihting to stay alive.”
