Affordable Storage Centre supports local charities

Local non profits benefit from the “Get Your Name Up in Lights “ fundraiser. This fundraiser was created by Affordable Mini Storage seven years ago.

Families First and Critteraid in Penticton are the benefactors of funds, over the next year, raised by individuals who pay to see their personal message up on the 20 foot high sign at Affordable Storage Centre in Penticton, BC. The “Get Your Name In Lights “ fundraiser was started by Affordable Mini Storage and is still going strong. Check out www.affordable.ca for more details.

Non profit organizations such as the Penticton Soup Kitchen, Big Brothers, the S.S Sicamous Society, The South Okanagan Women in Need, Moog and Friends Hospice House, Street Level Youth Center and the South Okanagan Rehabilitation Center for Owls Resources Society have benefited from this program. Each time a Penticton resident has their personal message put up on the sign board a non-profit chosen by the resident receives $10. Birthday Greetings, wedding and birth announcements and special event notices are up continually.

“ We’ve appreciated the opportunity to share our sign with the community says Barb Parsons, administrator and organizer of the sign at Affordable Mini Storage. “We also love to see the look of surprise and shock on someone’s face when they see their name on the sign and realize that thousands of drivers have also seen it.“
