Entrusting LipoDissolve® to a Female Physician
November 30, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
In an industry exploding with cutting edge cosmetic techniques and technologies, LipoDissolve® has risen to the top as one of the most promising, exciting body sculpting solutions in the business. Delivered through a series of micro-injections to areas that seem resistant to even the most diligent exercise, LipoDissolve literally dissolves fat. But fat is a personal issue. While it’s not hard to find the technical and scientific information about the latest technology, taking our perceived imperfections to a stranger is an act of trust – both emotional and physical. Many women feel more comfortable placing something as intimate as their own bodies in the hands of a female practitioner. Dr. Elizabeth Brauer Hagberg, M.D., owner of Skin Rejuvenation Clinic in Edina, understands this instinctively. As one of the only female physicians in her region administering LipoDissolve, she sees her niche as unique. But Dr. Hagberg’s “female compassion” is not a marketing ploy. Nor is it something she learned in medical school. It’s rooted in her real life as a woman.
Nicknamed “lunchtime lipo” for its minimal recovery time, if a patient meets certain criteria LipoDissolve can be used as an alternative or follow-up to liposuction or abdominoplasty. LipoDissolve uses a naturally occurring enzyme solution called phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate, or PCDC, which breaks down the fat cells, and is then absorbed and excreted naturally by the body. It is an is ideal solution for problem areas including under the chin, buttocks, knees, stomach, under the bra line, stomach, backs of arms and thighs, and saddles bags.
Dr. Hagberg added that both she and her husband Dr. Mark Hagberg, co-owner of Skin Rejuvenation Clinic have had advanced training in the procedure, and their combined experience provide patients with the confidence to make informed decisions about their bodies. “Having a sense of trust in your physician goes beyond how he or she looks on paper,” says Hagberg. “For some clients this means finding a qualified female practitioner.”
A graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Dr. Elizabeth Hagberg is board-certified through the American Academy of Family Practice. Among many dermatological certifications, both Hagberg and her husband/medical partner received their LipoDissolve training from a pioneer of the treatment. “Mark is every bit as qualified as I am in administering LipoDissolve, yet it’s nice to offer our patients both a male and female option. While many just want the first available appointment, we do have patients call with specific requests,” she said. “Many of us are modest with our bodies and it’s important to be sensitive to the needs of our patients.”
“If you are interested in LipoDissolve, it is important you find a skilled injector,” says Hagberg. “I have performed cosmetic injections for years, so I personally feel it is best to have a board-certified and experienced physician administer the treatment.”
