HORSHAM, PA (November 2007) – Five years ago, Nick and Lisa Braccia of Chalfont, Pa. ,Joel Shpigel of Richboro, Pa., and Rae London of Huntingdon Valley, Pa, joined forces to launch a web-based pharmacy with a community agenda and practice. Focus Express Mail Pharmacy was launched as a result of their leadership. Their start-up goals included providing expert service, outstanding customer care and convenient home delivery of medications and medical supplies to insurance qualified patients with diabetes and other chronic illnesses. Today, five years later, they celebrate their continued success in reaching the local and Internet community. The story of Focus Express Mail Pharmacy begins more than 30 years ago, when Shpigel first found interest in the pharmaceutical industry. After graduating from Temple University School of Pharmacy, he learned the trade by working for a small pharmacy chain, Gene Prescription Pharmacy Inc. in Abington, Pa. Shpigel eventually operated his own pharmacy for 8 years: the Joel Family Pharmacy in Hatboro, Pa. and at the same time co-founded Advantage Health Services, a national mail-order pharmacy in Willow Grove, Pa.
While Shpigel and London supplied the pharmacy and insurance expertise, it was Nick and Lisa Braccia who graciously came forward and pledged all the necessary financial backing without reservation in order to achieve the goals that were set forth.
Focus Express Mail Pharmacy’s brings more than 100 years of combined pharmacy experience and 50 years of specialized service focused on people with diabetes. Continually searching to improve care for their customers, the Braccia’s, Shpigel, and London added Rx Meds Support to their online pharmaceutical offerings in January 2007.
According to Joel Shpigel, “It is our passion to provide the best medical care to anyone who comes through our doors, just like they were family. We are so fortunate to work with an extremely loyal and dedicated pool of employees who care about our patients, care about the community, and care about our company.”
The friendly and altruistic nature of Focus Express Mail Pharmacy has raised more than just local eyes. In 2006, the American Diabetes Association recognized Focus for contributing more than $100,000 to the research of diabetes. Focus has pledged to continue helping through awareness campaigns and philanthropic endeavors to ultimately improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
The Braccia’s, Shpigel, and London along with the Focus Express Mail Pharmacy employees look forward to ringing in their silver anniversary in twenty years but for now, they savor the fifth anniversary symbol of wood which signifies strength and solidified relationships.
