The AAA Diamond Rating System is the only ratings system that covers all of North America and one of only two that conduct physical, on-site evaluations. To determine the list, a professionally-trained evaluator inspects each property, rating it on items such as amenities, housekeeping, customer service and ambiance. AAA has been publishing its hotel rankings since 1977.
