Atlanta, Georgia- November 9, 2007 - 3DScanCo is pleased to announce that it’s work has been featured in the latest issue of Entertainment Engineering. The article is available both in print and on the Entertainment Engineering website: http://www.entertainmentengineering.com/v4.issue11/index.html?page.10-11.html.The article, based on one of 3DScanCo’s many case studies, describes the Declaration of Independence frame restoration project. Due to it’s lengthy residence in the Rotunda of the National Archives Museum in Washington, DC, the unique hand-crafted frame had become worn down from visitors regularly touching its intricate details. 3DScanCo’s expertise in 3D scanning and CAD modeling were the perfect fit to digitally restore the frame to its original glory.
"We’re proud to have worked on such an artifact of American history," states Karol Hatzilias, 3DScanCo's President. "Although the hard work of our partners and us will be transparent to the museum visitors, we’re happy to be able to see the beautifully restored frame back in its original condition."
3DScanCo has been given the opportunity to restore the 3 other frames in the Rotunda of the National Archives Museum. The 2 frames that surround the American Originals exhibit and the frame containing the US Constitution well be completed and installed in early 2008.
The original case study is available on 3DScanCo’s website at http://www.3dscanco.com/clients/case-studies/national-archives-museum.cfm. Those interested in a free subscription to Entertainment Engineering can obtain one at http://www.entertainmentengineering.com/subscribe/
