The leaders of the world’s most powerful countries, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia are holding their G8 summit meetings in, Gleneagles, the week of July 6 – 9th, hosted by Tony Blair.

To force these leaders to have meaningful outcomes of their discussions and commitments, to the challenges faced by Africa, a series of live concerts in 8 locations throughout Europe and North America were arranged, to reflect the 8 powerful nations at the table. The Live 8 was born.

The live 8 concert held, July 2, simultaneously in the 8 locations to focus the world’s attention on this meeting of the 8 most powerful political leaders at the G8 Summit and the state of extreme poverty continuing to exist in Africa today.

Tony Blair has placed the extreme poverty in Africa at the very top of the Agenda. When they sit down to meet, it is imperative to let them know that the world is watching them and waiting for them to deliver. The challenge is out there for the leaders to discuss and follow through on commitments of aid to Africa.

Long after the concert is over. Long after it fades out of media spotlights. You can continue to show the World that you are one of the masses in support of this cause. Don’t let it fade away.

To Make Poverty History and to keep the world’s attention focused after the concert, you can purchase T-Shirts, Hats and memorabilia, with a portion of the profits being donated to the cause of ending world poverty.
