790 KABC Hosts Duke It Out at the OC Pavilion

The OC Pavilion (www.ocpavilion.com) is pleased to welcome the 2007 790 KABC Battle of the Talk Show Hosts on Thursday, November 15 starting at 6 PM. The event features popular TalkRadio 790 hosts Doug McIntyre, Larry Elder, Al Rantel, and Peter Tilden in a live broadcast from 7 PM to 9 PM. Pre-show entertainment with Leo Terrell and Tammy Bruce begins at 6 PM.Battle of the Talk Show Hosts broadcasts have become a tradition for TalkRadio 790 KABC hosts who put on their gloves, get into the ring with their colleagues, and take on the hot issues and topics of the day. Thousands of Los Angeles and Orange County listeners have enjoyed the opportunity to meet the faces of the Southland’s favorite radio hosts and they will once again have that chance as Doug McIntyre, Larry Elder, Al Rantel, and Peter Tilden are featured on the OC Pavilion stage during a live broadcast, from 7 PM to 9 PM. This is an event you don’t want to miss—get an up close and personal look at your favorite host taking on his competitors in the ring plus enjoy a few surprises during the evening!
In addition to their roles as popular radio hosts, the team of on-air personalities comes from varied backgrounds and interests including television writing, producing, acting, history, and more. Additional information on McIntyre, Elder, Rantel and Tilden is shown below.
Doug McIntyre
Doug has spent over 20 years as a TV writer/producer including television hits such as Married with Children, Full House and WKRP in Cincinnati. Doug is also a successful published author. As a student of American History and a jazz nut, he puts today’s issues into historical context.
Larry Elder
Larry is known as the “Sage from South Central”. The “Sage” engages political and cultural leaders in meaningful debate over race, government, personal responsibility and education. He has written a best-selling book, “The 10 things you can’t say in America”. Larry writes a nationally syndicated newspaper column which is distributed through Creators Syndicate. He has won the 1998 AEGIS Award of Excellence, a 1998 Telly award and a 1999 Emerald City Gold Award of Excellence.
Al Rantel
Al worked as a news producer and anchor at WINZ and news writer for KNX AM 1070. His tongue-in-cheek, tell-it-like-it-is style and engaging personality have taken him from behind the microphones to in front of the cameras on: The O’Reilly Factor; Equal Time; The Fox Report; Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher and CNN’s Talk Back Live.Al Rantel uncovers the events and newsmakers who don’t always make headlines, but whose stories impact our community in a controversial, meaningful and dramatic way.
Peter Tilden
Tilden spent much of the '90s with the late Tracey Miller and Ken Minyard on KABC and, for a brief time, on KMPC. Country fans discovered him in 2001 when he went to KZLA/93.9 FM to do morning drive. Peter has also spent some time in front of the camera, hosting NBC's "Later," ABC's "The Midnight Hour" and "PM Magazine" in Philadelphia. He has written and produced pilots for CBS, Nickelodeon and HBO. Peter was recently a writer and Executive Producer for the sit-com "Bob Patterson."
There are three different pricing packages available for the event. VIP seats are available in the two Opera Balconies for $80 each and include a meet & greet with 790 KABC hosts. In addition, orchestra floor seats are available for $50 and theatre seating for $30. Entrance to the OC Pavilion starts at 5 PM, theatre doors will be open at 6 PM. The award-winning Ambrosia Restaurant, on the second floor of the OC Pavilion, is available for dining. Reservations are strongly encouraged as spots tend to fill up on event nights.
