Randy Parton Theatre Sponsors Food Drive as part of “Carolina Christmas” Opening Weekend

Roanoke Rapids, NC –It is better to give than receive, but this season, you can do both! Those who participate in the Randy Parton Theatre “Stock the Pantry” Food Drive November 9 & 10 will receive through their giving. The Randy Parton Theatre will offer a special ticket price of $20.00 for all seating levels (plus tax) for the opening weekend of the “Carolina Christmas” show with the donation of two non-perishable food items per ticket. “We really wanted to do something special as part of our opening weekend. Food Banks across our area struggle this time of year to meet the demands; they serve a very important role in our community and we are proud to support them,” said Randy Parton.

Items most needed include canned meets, vegetables, and other non-perishables. All of the food donated will be given to food pantries in Roanoke Rapids, Rocky Mount, Emporia, and surrounding areas. The holidays are a time of giving, and through this event, The Randy Parton Theatre will be able to reach out, with the help of citizens, and touch those who are in need. November 9 & 10 are the selected days for the ticket/donation special as the food needs to be distributed quickly in time for holiday meals.

The show, which runs Wednesday thru Saturday, November 7 – December 29, features a wide variety of holiday musical selections. Working with Randy Parton in the development of “Carolina Christmas” is five-time, Grammy award winner Mike Post and North Carolina native, Emmy award winning film and television composer Velton Ray Bunch. “Tickets are really selling fast for the Christmas show so we’re encouraging people to book their seats in advance to get the best seats available,” said Janis O’Neill, National Sales Director.
