Online Electronic Employment Verification (EEV) Provides Form I-9 Compliance and Illegal Immigration Solution

November 03, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Dublin, OH – Federal law requires employers to verify that every employee is legally permitted to work in the United States, and a new online service makes that process fast, easy, and accurate through Electronic Employment Verification (EEV) I-9 compliance services.

The service, iVerify, is a product of i9 Advantage LLC through a web site at http://www.i9advantage.com which offers EEV through a process that is inexpensive, fast, and accurate for small and medium sized businesses. EEV through the iVerify service makes Form I-9 compliance a minor task for employers, which can help avoid government fines and penalties if audited.

“EEV will become mandatory very soon, and laws have already passed in many states like Arizona and Colorado that mandate Form I-9 completion. It only makes sense for employers to prepare for that inevitability by making Form I-9 compliance a part of their normal procedure for new hires,” said Eric Madden, president of i9 Advantage LLC. “It just makes good business sense,” he added.

Although the government does provide an online system for I-9 compliance, it puts employers in a position of risk because of weaknesses in the system. It does not check for errors, duplicate fraudulent Social Security numbers, and does not store or help employers complete I-9 Forms.

“You can count on the fact that the government is serious about cracking down on illegal immigrants in the U.S. workforce. The Form I-9, along with harsh government fines and escalating arrests are the government’s way of showing they mean business. Companies should start planning to implement an I-9 verification program immediately to avoid complicated, potentially costly problems,” explained Eric Bort of i9 Advantage LLC.
