7th Street Casino Names Deborah Kemp Human Resources Manager

Kansas City, Kansas– November 3, 2007 – Wyandotte Tribal Corporation Gaming Division announced that Deborah Kemp has been appointed Human Resources Manager of 7th Street Casino in Kansas City, Kansas. Her role as Human Resources Manager positions her as a strategic partner, an employee sponsor and advocate for the community surrounding the property. “I have a genuine interest in the betterment of Kansas City, Kansas,” said Kemp. “I hope to contribute to revitalizing the community by providing employment opportunities within an entertainment venue, in the heart of downtown.”
Additional responsibilities include managing employee benefits as well as managing the functions and needs of 7th Street Casino’s employees while reporting to 7th Street Casino’s General Manager, Ken Warner.
Kemp was previously involved in human resources management for a commercial gambling property. She has also provided consulting services to clients in the healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation industries. Kemp’s success in the human resources field include redesigning performance management and employee recognition programs, facilitating leadership training and ensuring fair employment practices seminars. She has also developed and implemented affirmative action programs utilizing her extensive experience in U.S. Department of Labor audits, and resolved employment matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other human rights commissions.
Kemp, a fourth generation Kansan, has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Missouri in Kansas City and completed her Masters of Arts in Sociology coursework and continuing education in Human Resources. She has been nationally recognized for her academic excellence and has presented on a variety of topics in forums throughout the nation. Kemp is a certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and serves the community in various roles through constituent leadership for the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
7th Street Casino is located at 803 North 7th Street, at the intersection of 7th Street (State Hwy 69) and Ann Avenue in downtown Kansas City, KS.
