Springfield, MO – November 6, 2007 - Budding writers, poet laureates, shutterbugs and humorists will find a new outlet for their material on freshare.net. Along with the site’s general makeover, freshare has added two new categories that welcome art, photos, poetry, prose, music and humorous pieces from its visitors.“The Ozarks is filled with storytellers, musicians and artisans” says publisher Bob Korpella. “We wanted to create a place where these individuals could share their talents with our readers, and the two new posting categories were the result.”
Freshare, which launched earlier this year, is a new media company that blends citizen journalism with professional resources to offer stories of importance to the Ozarks region.
Interaction is a cornerstone of the site and visitors can add their own news items, events, and opinions. Freshare is updated throughout the week and is filled with stories that are relevant to the area, both local news items as well as national events that have an impact on the region.
Other news is submitted by the publisher, the editor and freshare staff members along with video feeds from top news agencies like Reuters, the Associated Press, the Wall Street Journal and CBS News.
To keep freshare highly interactive, there is also a forum to debate issues of interest, room for readers' comments on any article submitted to the site and a searchable database of area events. Members can also communicate with one another behind the scenes through access to their own control panel.
The addition of a category for Ozarks humor and one for Ozarks arts was part of a general re-design of the site intended to make freshare.net easier to navigate while maintaining our desire for a site that’s clean and fresh, like our name.
The front page has a sample from every major category with separate pages for each section so visitors can quickly find what they are looking for. Navigation throughout the site is designed to be user friendly and each submitted article can be emailed, printed or bookmarked at the discretion of the visitor.
Freshare is supported by advertisers who can post information about their business in our BizBits section, allowing virtually unlimited words and pictures to tell visitors about what they do.
