Designer Shopping Just One Click Away

Her online designer handbag boutique, Mfuko, (which means handbag in Swahili), is now available through n-e-life’s shopping mall, n-e-shopping.com.

Dawn explains: “Presently Mfuko is the only online designer store to offer such an exclusive range of handbags and accessories. Most of the products available on my site cannot be bought elsewhere online, they can only be purchased through large department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges, so I’m giving consumers the opportunity to buy designer goods from their desktop without having to leave the house.”

Mfuko sells a range of handbags and accessories from a number of well renowned designers, including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Natalie French and Frank Usher. Prices are available to suit all pockets.

Opening and fitting out a store, buying in stock and employing staff can be an expensive outlay, but for Dawn the option of opening an online handbag store was much more feasible.

Dawn says: “As I didn’t have the funds to set up my own shop, trading online was a much more viable option and n-e-life’s shopping mall seemed the perfect place to showcase the site. Not only that, online trading allows the greatest revenue opportunities and gives Mfuko access to a much wider audience.

“The team at n-e-life have been fantastic. By taking care of the site, setting up all of the back of house mechanics and designing the logo and layout, they have given me the extra time I’ve needed to meet with suppliers and collate stock.”

Norma Foster, chief executive of n-e-life.com, adds: “Many more retailers are opting to take advantage of our shopping mall facility as it gives them the chance to trade online without all of the expense of setting up their own website and installing an expensive payment facility. It also provides immediate traffic from consumers visiting the other n-e-shopping stores.”

Taking and shipping orders from her home in Middridge near Bishop Auckland, Dawn will also continue in her role as business development manager for Durham-based Walker Hall Associates.
