Teresa Nowak, senior vice president of Commerce Bank of Arizona, has been named as one of 2007’s “Up and Comers” in the October 29, 2007 issue of Inside Tucson Business, a weekly newspaper focusing on Southern Arizona’s business and legal communities. She is one of nine young leaders being honored in a special section by the publication.

“Teresa’s relationship with the Tucson community is exceptional,” said Randy J. Yenerich, president and CEO of Commerce Bank of Arizona. “Her creativity, energy and commitment ensure that our customers receive the attention to detail and quality services that only a locally based company can offer. With her professional drive and charitable contributions, Teresa is a shining example of what is right with Southern Arizona’s leadership.”

Several of Nowak’s accolades include creating a scholarship endowment to be funded in perpetuity for a deserving student athlete at the University of Arizona to honor her late father, serving as the director of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults ministry at her parish and giving back to the community through mentoring programs, scholarships and holding educational board member positions.

Inside Tucson Business honors Tucson’s “Up and Comers” every year by acknowledging those who are in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have made a positive impact on the region, both in the accomplishments they’ve made in their careers and the contributions they’ve made to the community.

In Nowak’s role as senior vice president, she is responsible for an extensive array of commercial loan relationships with an emphasis on lending to medical facilities and non-profit organizations. She has been employed with Commerce Bank since December 2002 and has more than 11 years of lending experience in the local bank community.
