FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. (October 31, 2007) — Jervis B. Webb Company — a world leader in material-handling solutions — is currently seeking software engineers and electrical designers to support recent growth. The company also announced it has added more than 25 new engineers in the past year to its Michigan sites. Those hired will fill positions at its locations in Harbor Springs, Boyne City and its Farmington Hills headquarters.

“We are always looking for top-quality engineers to support our business, especially now, with our recent growth,” said Susan Webb, president and CEO. “Since we began in 1919, Webb’s success has been linked to the strength of the people it employs. We’ve been very fortunate to attract and retain some of the most talented individuals this market has to offer.”

Known for its work within the automotive industry, the Webb Company has diversified its business interest over the past decade to include work in the airport industry, as well as manufacturing and sale of automatic guided vehicle technology. The expanded business has led the company to experience its largest growth in recent years. To accommodate this, Webb has bolstered its workforce within the state of Michigan, with plans to increase its staff further in coming months.

Traditionally, Webb has serviced multiple business segments by cross-training its existing engineering personnel. Cross training allows an employee to learn new skills and be repurposed for assignment in a different industry segment, as the need arises. However, with the company’s increase in new business, Webb has been presented with a unique opportunity to enlarge its engineering workforce. Webb has experienced very little employee turnover, with the typical employee spending an average of 15 years with the company.

Webb employs approximately 200 engineers. The company has approximately 500 employees in Michigan and nearly 1,000 employees worldwide.

Webb offers competitive salaries and opportunities for growth. Those interested in engineering or other positions at Webb should visit www.jervisbwebb.com/Careers.aspx.
