RICHMOND, VA – Long Floor, a leading distributor of prefinished and unfinished hardwood flooring, equipment, and sundry products, recently completed several product training events presented to sales staff and customers. The seminars took place at the company’s Beltsville, MD and Chesapeake and Richmond, VA locations. The company hosted a Bona Training Seminar entitled “A Taste of the 4-Day School” on September 18th in Beltsville, September 19th in Chesapeake, and September 20th in Richmond. The four-hour presentation, presented by Gregg Bethune, Regional Distributor Manager for Beltsville, and Bob Burton, Regional Contractor Manager for Richmond & Chesapeake, gave Long Floor customers and sales staff the opportunity to receive direct training from Bona professionals. Participants were instructed on how to roll on a water-based finish, re-coating aluminum oxide finishes, and how to buff on stain. Attendees received a certificate towards their NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) certification.
On September 25th, 26th, and 27th, Long Floor hosted Vendor Days at their Beltsville, Richmond, and Chesapeake locations, respectively. This four-hour training class gave Long Floor customers the opportunity to receive training from four vendors in one day. Todd McDonald (WD Flooring), AJ Winstead (Clarke American Sanders), Steve Crawford (DuraSeal), and Jim Heeg (3M) spent one hour each with customers to demonstrate and talk about their company’s new products. This event was provided free of charge and was made available to all Long Floor customers and sales staff.
“We’re delighted by the number of customers that came out and took advantage of these training opportunities,” says Long Floor Marketing Coordinator, Adrienne Merza. “Long Floor is committed to making our customers’ jobs a little easier. Training classes like Vendor Days and the Bona Seminar gives our customers the chance to not only ask our vendors questions, but also to get hands-on training on several product lines. It’s a great experience for everyone and we’re looking forward to offering similar classes to our customers in the future.”
