MISTER MONEY AND THE NATIONAL PAWNBROKERS ASSOCIATION AWARD TWO SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL STUDENTS

Appleton, Wisconsin., June 21, 2007 — Mister Money USA and the National Pawnbrokers Association are proud to announce that Anthony Robert Dunham and Emily Dunham have been awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship each to attend Bethel University.

The Future Business Leaders Scholarship Fund was founded several years ago to benefit the children of slain police officers and the children of pawn customers amongst others. There have been over 35 FBL scholarships awarded to students for their excellence over the last 4 years. The selection criterion includes such things as the student’s community involvement, extracurricular activities, GPA, and an essay.

Mister Money USA is one of the largest pawnshop organizations in North America (www.MisterMoney.com) and Mister Money USA of Appleton a franchise, is owned and operated by Greg Baer. “The franchise was opened in 1998 and it’s family-operated and a customer-friendly place to shop” explained Baer. In addition to selling new and secondhand merchandise, Mister Money provides customers a variety of financial services, including pawn loans, payday loans and check cashing.

“Anthony and Emily’s parents were customers of Mister Money. While attending West High School, Anthony and Emily also worked for me at Mister Money in Appleton. They were talking to me of their excitement about attending college next year, but were concerned about the costs” said Baer. “I remembered the Future Business Leaders Scholarship offered by the National Pawnbrokers Association and told them about it. I’m so glad that they applied.”

“The National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA) is a trade association representing pawnbrokers across the country with a membership of over 2500,” says Fran Bishop the President of the NPA. “As pawnbrokers and small business owners, we feel an importance to give back to the communities in which we live. We are very proud that two fine young employees of Mister Money applied and have been awarded the $1000 scholarships from our Future Business Leaders Scholarship Fund. This FBL Scholarship program is funded entirely by donations from our NPA members throughout the country.”
