Store owners Susan and Matt Straub have nearly two decades of industry experience, combined with several years living in Europe. Unlike many retailers that sell lower quality furniture pieces from Asia often purchased from middlemen, the couple specializes in heirloom-quality pieces imported directly from artisans, passing on a considerable savings to customers. The majority of the furniture pieces come directly from Europe.

The newest furniture shipment to arrive at European Splendor includes an early 1900s Scandinavian armoire, an exceptional 8 ft. gnarled pine table, European-crafted buffets, tables, hand-painted pieces and much more. Another shipment of furniture from Europe is anticipated to arrive in late July or early August.

Additionally, customers will find a new line of French linens available online and in the Louisville retail store. This linen collection, made by Charvet Editions, is considered some of the finest French linen available. Woven in one of the last linen mills in Armentieres, France, Charvet has been weaving linen there for more than a century.

Customers can enjoy extended weekend hours at various times throughout the summer including the last Friday of every month during the Frankfort Avenue Trolley (F.A.T.) Hop on Frankfort Avenue when European Splendor is open (along with other area retailers) until 10:30 p.m.
