Chester Dentists Provide a Day of Free Dental Care In-Office

August 11, 2015 - Chester, VA – For one day each year, the office of Drs. Tony and John Agapis Family Dentistry provides no-cost dental care to under-served members of their community.

Drs. Tony and John Agapis Family Dentistry is a father-son dental office located in Chester, VA. Their mission is to provide high-quality dental care for patients of all ages, and promote excellent oral health. As a way to expand their services to the less fortunate in their community, Drs. Tony and John open their office one day a year for patients who need treatment, but cannot afford care.

Free Dental Day allows patients who have lost their jobs, or those who do not have the support of dental insurance, to get some help. Dr. Tony Agapis have been hosting a Free Dental Day in Chester, VA for nine years and has helped more than 1,000 patients get no-cost oral health care.

Going without proper care from a dentist has a significant impact on your health and wellness. As dental professionals, Drs. Tony and John know what lack of dental care can cause for teeth, gums, and overall systemic health. Free Dental Day allows them the opportunity to provide cost-free dental care for the health and well being of their community.

In addition to Drs. Agapis' involvement, other volunteer dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists visit the office to provide as much care as possible for patients in-need. Treatments can include teeth cleanings and tooth extractions. This years Free Dental Day will be held in October. About Tony Agapis, DDS and John Agapis, DDS
Dr. Tony Agapis has practiced dentistry in Chester for 30 years. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Tony completed a dental residency at Rochester General Hospital, advanced training in dental sedation at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Tony has participated in mission trips to Mexico and Guatemala and hosts the community charity event, Free Dental Day.

Dr. John Agapis is a graduate of James Madison University where he studied computer science and biology. He later graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry and has joined his father in dental missions in Mexico and Guatemala where he offered dental services to orphaned children. Both Dr. Tony and Dr. John are members of the American Dental Association and the Virginia State Dental Association.
