MTI College released an infographic on one of its main career training areas: technology. Technology is one of the largest sources of job growth in America. Companies are utilizing technology in an increasing number of ways to streamline internal operations, reach out to clients, showcase products and services, etc. More professionals are needed to perform a variety of IT functions, and with advancements in technology, more types of positions are being created on an ongoing basis.

The infographic looks specifically at 3 areas: critical skills and qualities of IT workers, the percentage of total IT job postings in the US by region, and the fastest growing technology skills. In addition to computer skills, critical thinking skills and detail-oriented habits are important for IT workers, including developers, programmers, and app designers. Most job postings are being offered in the Pacific and South Atlantic regions.

The most in-demand skills in the tech industry are now cloud computing (194% increase in job postings since 2012), virtualization (94% increase), javascript (86% increase), and CSS (73% increase). Cloud computing and virtualization are used within companies to share information with others in a network, sync devices, and remotely access information. Javascript and CSS are important for both app development and web design, which are used primarily for client outreach.
