Los Angeles, California - April 20, 2009 - Corporate Finance Associates, (CFA) an international middle-market investment banking services firm providing merger and acquisition, business valuation, capital resources, and financial advisory services, is further expanding its reach in the Mid-Atlantic region with the opening of a new office located at 1150 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC.

CFA's new Washington, DC office, managed by Gianpiero (JP) Balestrieri, will focus on providing business owners with merger, acquisition, and financial advisory services. Mr. Balestrieri, who has more than 20 years of experience as a principal, executive or advisor in divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, debt, capital markets, project financing and restructurings for national and international companies, is joining the firm as Managing Partner and will manage client relationships in Washington, DC and across the Mid-Atlantic states.

Prior to joining CFA, Mr. Balestrieri's transaction expertise has been focused on mergers and acquisitions and project finance as an advisor or executive for public and privately held companies, including GE and Bechtel, as well as other firms. Mr. Balestrieri has led and closed transactions in the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, transport/logistics, government contracts services, telecommunications and digital media industry segments. Mr. Balestrieri also has extensive international experience in managing and closing very complex cross-border multi-party transactions, development, operations and projects in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia, as well as cross-border transactions within the United States.

Mr. Balestrieri is a GMP graduate of Harvard Business School as well as an Honors BA in finance/economics (summa cum laude) from the York University/LSE, a J.D. (Dean's Fellow) and MBA (finance curriculum) at the American University/WCL. Mr. Balestrieri is fluent in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic and Greek.
